Spring 2016 STEP Awards announced.

For the Spring 2016 cycle, eighteen (18) awards totaling $524,601.64 were funded by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Technology Enhancement Program (STEP). Of the proposals funded, three (3) will have an annual sustainability fund impact of $24,105.00 (average $8,035/project). All three (3) "sustainable" projects were SMART Classrooms/TEC rooms. The highest rated (by the STEP Council in rank order H-L) proposals for the cycle included: Upgrade of Software for Visually Impaired; Computer Lab Intensive English Program; A Smart Classroom in Chemistry; Economical Micro Scale Equipment in Chemistry Labs; and, Purchase of Spectrophotometers for Chemistry Laboratory Courses. Funded grant scores ranged from (H-L) 94.44 to 68.75 with an average score of 75.94. Other interesting awards included: Joint Injection and Arthrocentesis Simulators; Enrichment of Clinical Skills for Graduate Advance Practice Nursing Students; Technology Room for Mathematics and Statistics Instruction; Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) upgrade for Undergraduate Student: School of Computing and Informatics; Teaching Design, Engineering, Robotics; and, Cajun Village Wireless Connectivity.
