UL has begun implementing Banner, an enterprise resource planning (or ERP) solution. This system will be a great improvement from ISIS and will allow many processes throughout the university to run more smoothly. At first it may seem like a difficult change to overcome, but once you’re used to Banner life it will be much easier! Banner focuses on business process management. As Banner continues to advance on campus, it will organize and support processes like payroll, purchasing requests, and admissions. It contains integrated applications to make office duties concerning services, human resources, and technology more efficient. Banner will take students from admissions to graduation! The housing department has already implemented an entirely-online form for registration, and soon the rest of the campus will be throwing out paper forms for good.

Students have already seen the new scheduling interface, which offers a convenient Schedule of Classes so students can search the time and subject of courses to see which ones are offered at their requested time. On the new ULink, students can currently register for the upcoming fall semester. From the home screen, students can conveniently schedule meetings with their personal advisors, view the catalog of courses for their enrollment year, check any holds they might have acquired, and check the times they were assigned to schedule courses. Registering for classes has never been so convenient! Under “Look Up Classes,” students can search the database of all the classes offered next semester that will fit into their schedule. Classes are searchable by time and dates. Students can also see all of their scheduled classes clearly in a separate window by clicking on “View Class Schedule.” Building abbreviations and a campus map are also available to any student in the same menu. The “Help & Resources” section breaks down all the necessities of student life and serves as easy answers to many questions.

Not only is Fall Registration on the new and improved ULink, but there is also a tab just for tuition and Financial Aid! Students’ can find their statements of account here, as well.  The Campus Life tab informs students about dining services, housing, their Cajun Card balance, and parking.

The new ULink is active now to all returning students by logging in with your new ULID and password. Students can get assistance through the IT Help Desk and the Banner website, where there is an option to contact the ERP team directly.
